Privacy policy

PortugalTest (portugaltest.com) is an independent trainer for the CIPLE (A2) Portuguese exam. This page explains what data the site and the trainer handle. Short version: no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party scripts; what you do in the trainer stays on your device.
Who is responsible
The site is operated by PortugalTest (sole trader, Portugal). Contact: romanevich@gmail.com.
What the site does not collect
There is no registration, no user account, no analytics or advertising service, no social-media widgets and no cookie banner, because the site uses no cookies for tracking. Fonts and all files are served from our own server; nothing is loaded from third parties.
Server logs
Like every web server, ours records requests in a technical log: IP address, date and time, the address requested, browser type and the response code. The log is used only to keep the server secure and to diagnose faults, is not combined with any other data and is deleted automatically after 14 days. The server is hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt).
The trainer on your device
Your attempts, answers, self-assessments, practice statistics, language setting and any unlocked papers are stored in your browser's local storage on your device. They are never sent to us. "Delete history" in the trainer's settings removes them; clearing the browser's site data removes everything.
Access codes and the access cookie
When you enter an access code, the server checks it and records, against the code itself, the number of activations and the time of the last one — nothing that identifies you. It then sets one cookie, pt_access, valid for one year and sent only to the access service, so that the paid papers can be delivered to your browser. This cookie is strictly necessary for the service you asked for; it contains no personal data and is not used for tracking. "Remove access from this device" in the trainer deletes it.
Purchases
When you buy full access we receive the e-mail address you write from and the payment confirmation. We use them to send you the code, to answer questions about your order and to keep the accounting records the law requires (in Portugal, for ten years). If a payment provider is used, its own privacy policy applies to the payment itself; we never see card numbers.
Speech
The listening and speaking parts use recorded audio or the text-to-speech voice of your browser or operating system. Text passed to that voice is processed by your device or by your platform's speech service under its own terms; we do not receive it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to its use — write to romanevich@gmail.com. You may also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD).
The Android app
The Android version of the trainer (Ensaio A2) works entirely offline and collects nothing; its only optional permission is notifications for a daily reminder you switch on yourself. Android may include the app's data in the backup of your Google account, which you control and which never reaches us.
